What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
• Provide senior technical expertise in building data collection and processing pipelines for downstream consumption for Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics.
• Lead the design and implementation of logical and physical data models suitable for consumption by BI tools.
• Lead and participate in the migration of legacy on-premise legacy BI applications and data stores to modern cloud platforms
• Translate corporate information requirements into detailed system/programming specifications.
• Perform system acceptance testing and draft system documentation.
• Develop End User Application (EUA) demos and proto-types to support design process.
• Consult with users to determine their user requirements.

How do I qualify?

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of the principles/techniques of large-scale Business Intelligence (BI) and data warehouse / database design, data modelling and information management concepts.
• Practical hands-on experience in design and development of BI solutions (using technologies such as IBM Cognos Analytics or Power BI) including advanced reporting and data visualizations
• Familiarity with the process of building a BI solutions, including data warehouse/mart design, data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL).
• Knowledge and experience using relational database systems such as Oracle (including advanced SQL and PL/SQL or equivalent).
• Experience or knowledge with cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) as well as data warehousing solutions for cloud (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse).
• Experience in all life cycle stages of a BI solution (requirements gathering, design, development, implementation, and maintenance).
• Understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles, techniques, methodologies and various architecture domains.
• Some experience in Unix/Windows/Python scripting, and other development tools.

SYSTEMS ANALYSIS AND TECHNOLOGY PLANNING EXPERIENCE:

• Experience analyzing, designing, developing, testing, implementing, supporting, and demonstrating business applications (for Business Intelligence and data analytics).
• Experience building and managing data sets by analyzing data contained in the corporate database, legacy systems and other data sources.

ANALYTICAL SKILLS AND INTERPRETATIVE REASONING SKILLS:

• Proven analytical and interpretative reasoning skills to assess client I&IT needs and develop I&IT solutions that are cost effective and improve client program and service delivery.
• Ability to determine all appropriate technical requirements, resources and cost estimates for developing, testing and implementing client application and recommend the improvements.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS:

• Demonstrated project planning methodologies to plan and coordinate technical activities, plans and schedules of project teams.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

• Demonstrated interpersonal, conflict resolution, team building and client relationship management skills to discuss program requirements.
• Oral and written communication skills to provide information with respect to technical and operational application policies, procedures and standards.
