The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Business Technology Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who possesses a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technology solutions and our business objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, optimize processes, and support our organization's growth.

The Business Technology Analyst plays a key role in structuring the enterprise in terms of its governance structure, business processes, and business information. This person aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services, partners, and suppliers; organization; capabilities; and key business and IT initiatives. You will help the company to implement and integrate technology into the business process. The primary focus is the business motivations, business operations and business analysis frameworks and related networks that link these aspects of the enterprise together. The Business Technology Analyst works to develop an integrated view of the organization using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for:

  • Technology Strategy: Develop and execute technology strategies that align with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze technology requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment with business needs.
  • Solution Design: Design and recommend technology solutions, considering scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Project Management: Lead or participate in technology projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for process optimization and business improvement.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors and partners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and products.
  • Change Management: Assist in managing the change associated with technology implementations, including training and communication plans.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on the performance of technology solutions, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential technology-related risks and security concerns.
  • Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, providing insights and recommendations for innovation.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of successfully bridging technology and business objectives.
  • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes, and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
  • The ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies, and cross-silo redundancies.
  • The ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues.
  • Experience using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate, or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business.
  • The ability to visualize and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture.
  • Extensive experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations.
  • The ability to act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and data constraints to the business; applies equal conveyance regarding business strategy and IT strategy, business processes and workflow automation, business initiatives and IT initiatives, and benefit realization and service delivery.
  • Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus.
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project management experience and familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Experience in the Seafood or Aquaculture industry is an asset.
