Cafe Assistant/Barista

Cornerstone Cafe is looking for a great team player to join us at the Canmore Nordic Centre. The Cafe is part of the Cornerstone family, including Cornerstone Catering and Cornerstone Weddings. We are currently looking for an experienced Cafe Attendant/Barista to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.

Duties of the position include:

• Greeting customers to Cornerstone Cafe.
• Serving customers and preparing specialty beverages.
• Serving sandwiches, soups, chilis, and other food items.
• Assisting with the preparation/cooking of soups, chilis, baked goods, and other food items for the Cafe and events.
• Cooking fries, burgers, and grilled sandwiches (after training)
• Accepting payment for purchases.
• Performing a cash-out at the end of each shift.
• Keeping the cafe clean and tidy and ensuring all food handling regulations are adhered to.

Experience:

Previous Barista or food and beverage experience is required in this role. We are looking for someone who is customer-focused, enjoys interacting with the public, is punctual and reliable.

The working environment involves working within a small team or sometimes independently.

Preference will be given to those who have a food handling certificate and a current WHMIS 2015 certificate. We can assist with acquiring a ProServe certificate.

Salary: From $17.00 per hour
