Aqua-Check, Inc is looking to hire a Water Quality Technician to train for Cape Breton Island.
This is a casual permanent position and ideal for retired persons or individuals not requiring full time hours. This position will provide an estimated 85 – 100 days of work each year as outlined below:
· January: ~ 10 days
· February: ~ 5 days
· March: ~15 days
· April: ~ 15 days
· May: ~ 10 days
· June: ~ 7 days
· July: ~ 3 days
· August: ~ 3 days
· September: ~15 days
· October: ~ 10 days
· November: ~ 2days
· December: ~ 5 days
Key responsibilities:
- Collection of potable Water Quality samples
- Collection of GPS positions, site photographs and observations
- Collection of field measurements using professional testing equipment
- Installation & collection of radon testing equipment
- Travel across Cape Breton Island on a regular basis, travel outside this region occasionally
Salary: $15.40/hour plus mileage & expenses
Start date: Monday, April 29th, 2024
Language requirements: English
Applicant must have a valid drivers license, reliable vehicle and be available for travel throughout Cape Breton Island between the possible hours of 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM. All mileage associated with your work will be expensed at company rates.
Applicant must be capable of working unsupervised. The position requires making your own schedule, setting appointments, and ensuring deadlines are met. Reliable, mature applicants only please.
