We are seeking for a Capital Planning Officer to join our Asset Management Strategy & Planning Department. Under the limited
direction of the Portfolio Planner, act as a specialist in applying asset management principles and tools for capital portfolio planning.
Support the Asset Investment Planning team in portfolio planning activities such as capital approval support, and portfolio
optimization. Participate in the continuous improvement of the asset investment planning of all phases of customer energy delivery
(Electricity Transmission, Distribution, Generation and Natural Gas).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise and advice on business process and corporate policy to investment initiators and finance staff to ensure
both proper set up of new project information at initiation (or existing project information updates), and integrity of the system
data for all functionalities.
  • Develop as a specialist and provide advice to others in the application of Copperleaf software.
  • Develop and apply a sound understanding of Copperleaf, Power BI, SharePoint, the Asset Needs Tracker, Business

Warehouse, SAP-PS, and other tools related to asset investment planning, including understanding the relationships between
them.

  • Collect, analyze, maintain, and communicate investment and portfolio data in customer centric reports using tools such as
Power BI, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Develop key performance indicators and analyze technical data to identify and inform performance improvement
opportunities.
  • Provide support for the Asset Investment Planning team who is responsible for planning Capital investment portfolios for all
phases of customer energy delivery. This includes, but is not limited to, vetting project justifications for adequate value
measures, analysis of CAPITAL PLANNING scenarios for optimization, and providing solutions or recommendations with respect to
the data collection, analysis, and process improvement.
  • Lead or participate in various process improvement initiatives related, but not limited, to CAPITAL PLANNING, investment
approvals, and Copperleaf.
  • Leverage knowledge of business processes to provide input to the development of strategies to align project planning staging
and portfolio optimization with capital process changes.
  • Liaise with multiple teams to ensure accurate asset investment data in Copperleaf, and that investments are entered into
Copperleaf for all expected Capital Projects in the planning window.

Qualifications:

  • Two Year Diploma in a relevant field plus four years of experience using software tools to make data driven decisions.
  • Operational knowledge of Manitoba Hydro's CAPITAL PLANNING, and asset management processes.
  • Basic proficiency and understanding of Copperleaf, SAP-PS, PowerBI, SharePoint, Excel, and

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $37.19-$51.49 Hourly,
$71,271.20-ssss$98,656.48 Annually.
