Responsibilities & Duties
· Communicate effectively with residents that have dementia. Be able to convince the residents and provide emotional support to resident.
· Support clients who can’t move on their own.
· Communicate effectively between the care coordinator, the pharmacy and other health care providers regarding residents changes and needs.
· ADL needs for residents are fulfilled as per care plan. This includes personal hygiene, nail care, oral care, skin care, toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming.
· Ensure residents receive their medications on time and that medication is administered properly according to the training.
· Prepare & Serve meals according to the recipe book and resident’s restrictions.
· Coordinate with Health Care Professionals to learn how to provide Specialized Care to meet the needs of those residents that require it.
· Do necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean environment.
· Observe and report any changes in resident’s functional and cognitive behavior to the care coordinator.
· Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
· Keep certificates updated according as per requirement.
Qualifications & Requirement
Please note all certificates need to be updated if they are expired.
· Atleast 2 years of experience in long-term care or personal care home or related field.
· Vulnerable Sector Police Check (Needs to be done within last 3 years from date of employment and must not show any convictions).
· Medication Module (A free course which needs to be completed. Please speak to HR at Beacon House).
· Personal Care Worker Course (Must be completed within 3 months of employment).
· First Aid (Can be done online and must be completed within 3 months of employment).
· Food Safety (Can be done online and must be completed within 3 months of employment).

Pay: $14.00-$16.00 per hour
