Temporary Full Time
SCHEDULE/HRS:
 Flex based schedule //  37.5 hours per week 
HOURLY WAGE: $20.00

THE ROLE:  

The Career Development Counsellor will work with our Employment Services team to support adults and transitioning youth with developmental disabilities and barriers to employment to prepare for, seek and/or maintain employment. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of tasks and activities that support individuals in community based employment. This position is best suited for a highly organized individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills who is seeking a career in Career Development, Community Support, or Human Resources training. This position is subject to funding by Canada summer jobs. Position is conditional based on approval of application request by Service Canada

REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

•    Post-secondary education or training in a related field (Social Services, Human Services, or Education).

•    Must be between ages of 18-30 at intake time, legally entitled to work in Canada, not hold another Full Time (30 or more hours) summer job

Preferred Experience:

•    Previous experience working with adults with barriers to employment

•    Demonstrated ability to successfully implement instructional and other support programs.

•    Experience working in a professional team environment

Standard requirements of the Program Worker include:

•    Criminal Record Clearance

•    Medical Clearance

•    Valid First Aid/CPR

•    Class 5 Drivers License

•    Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract

•    Use of a car with business insurance

•    Demonstrated competency in English

•    Proficient with Microsoft Office 365– (asset) expertise in the development of online class content & implementation

•    Eligible to work in Canada

•    Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee status
