Caregiver (Companion) Casual

Summary of Position

Shift Length: 2-3 Hours/Day (Afternoon and Evening Shift)

Schedule: 2-7 Shifts/Week (You choose)

Preferred Candidate: Caregiver with ability to connect with older female client seeking companionship.

This position is perfect for a retired person who enjoys conversations with older adults.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Assists the client in maintaining a high level of personal hygiene
• Assists client in meeting nutritional needs by encouraging independence with eating and drinking and providing assistance when and as required.
• Prepares and delivers nourishments and snacks.
• Promotes and provides adequate hydration based on client needs.
• Assists in serving and feeding the client as well as cleaning up the area after each meal.
• Drive client to appointments or social activities
• Enjoy client's company

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Must maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Ability to work as a part of an interdisciplinary team and communicate with clients, families, and peers effectively.
• Ability to prioritize and manage assigned workload.
• Clear Police Information Check
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
• Demonstrate infection control procedures.
• Must have reliable transportation with at least Class 5 BC driver’s License (other options can be explored)
• Clear TB Screening and other immunizations

Work Location: Ladysmith

Job Type: Casual

Salary: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
