We are looking for a Carpenter Helper to join our building maintenance team at Fernie Alpine Resort. The ideal candidate will have carpentry and building maintenance experience with excellent communication skills and be a great team player with a strong customer service orientation.
You will
- Ensure a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff
- Undertake all types of carpentry and building maintenance work on all resort property
- Undertake interior and exterior building construction and maintenance plus ongoing troubleshooting and repairs work for all resort-owned buildings at base area and on the mountain
- Provide special events requirements for resort operations as the need arises
- Complete carpentry and building maintenance work orders and team assignments
- Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook
- Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
- Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management/Return-to-Work Programs
- Perform other carpentry tasks and duties as required
You Have
- Proven abilities and work experience in carpentry and general building maintenance (required)
- Carpenter trade certification (an asset)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- The ability to be safety-orientated with clean organized workplace standards
- The ability to work well with others
