The Vaughan International Film Festival (VFF), based in a neighbouring city of Toronto, is a not-for-profit organization highly invested in securing the future of the short film industry. Through public film screenings, scholarship opportunities as well as engaging and informative panels, webinars, and industry events, VFF strives to support both experienced and aspiring filmmakers.

Job description:

VFF is looking for dedicated and professional individuals to join our Cast Team. As part of the Cast Team, individuals will become an integral part of our festival experience, contribute to the success of our festival, and work all events. As a volunteer, you'll gain valuable insights about the festival and the arts in our community and internationally. The position is available until the end of October 2024, with the possibility of continuing.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Attending and participating in mandatory monthly meetings; meetings are in person held at our office, located in Vaughan
• Attend and work all festival events and related events; positions will vary
• Monitor group chat and emails and acknowledge/reply
• Follow VFF social media handles and interact with posts by commenting, liking, and sharing

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum 18 years old
• Ontario high school graduate
• Criminal background check is required, or equivalent document
• Have a WhatsApp account
• Previous film festival experience, preferred but not required
• Knowledge or an interest in films/movies
• Positive attitude
• Punctual
• Strong team player and able to work independently and relate with all levels of staff and guests
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills
• Fully vaccinated is encouraged
