Casual Cook - Seniors Home

Sodexo is looking for Casual/Part Time Cook to join our team at our assisted living facility in the NW community of Evanston.

We are seeking individuals with flexible availability (available to cover sick days with short notice and vacation requests) for our morning shifts (630am to 230pm) and our afternoon shifts (11am to 7pm).

Experience is required for this position. Food safety and cleanliness are of paramount importance to us, so you should be fluent with all food safety matters and be able to adhere to our food and physical safety programs. We have a very organized and effective environment, and we are looking for someone to complement this.

We offer pay range of $18.00 - $18.50 hourly depending on experience and skill. This position may lead to full time hours, which would include full health and dental benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and food safety guidelines
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation of the meal service
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a institutional kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
