Requirements
-Previous experience working with young children in an Early Childhood education setting.
-Knowledge of child development principles and practices, including play-based learning and emergent curriculum.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
-Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
-Ability to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes equity.
-CPR and first aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
-Current criminal record (including vulnerable sector)check
-Familiar with licensing regulations and standards for Early Childhood education programs.
Responsibilities
-Develop and implement childcare programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and social development of children
-Assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents and other staff members
-Supervise and monitor the safety of children in our care.
-Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including play, art, reading, and outdoor activities.
-Follow the daily schedule and routine established by the childcare program.
-Assist children with meals and feeding if necessary.
-Assist children with toileting and personal hygiene needs, including handwashing and changing clothes as necessary.
-Conduct regular diaper changes for toddlers, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards according to established protocols.
