Participation Lodge Grey-Bruce is a not-for-profit organization that strives to empower and enrich the lives of the individuals we support. We have many faucets with which we connect with the community, but our apartment Program in Owen Sound is currently seeking Personal Support Workers to join our wonderful team! We are a very dedicated team, seeking to support and enrich the lives of those we support.
Hours of Work: 8-44hrs per week
Wage: In accordance with Collective Agreement
($26.13 to $27.08 per hr + 6% pay-in-lieu of benefits, after 480hrs of probationary hours are completed) *the Ontario $3/hour wage enhancement is included*
Our dedicated team at Participation Lodge Grey-Bruce is committed to helping our clients with complex needs achieve a true “quality of life” which goes well beyond the basic needs of personal care. Clients are seen as individuals, each with their own physical and emotional needs. We have amazing PSWs, DSWs, and RPNs supporting the clients, and their choices, throughout our various programs and locations across the Grey-Bruce region.
We are currently looking for PSWs or DSWs for our Owen Sound Apartment Program (Assisted Living).
What to expect from this position:
- Hours of work: will fluctuate based on staff vacations or other needs
- Assist with personal care activities
- Ensuring the safety of clients and fostering a safe and supportive environment
- Encouraging and supporting clients' aspirations and personal goals
- Supporting independent living by performing activities of which the clients are unable, such as light housekeeping and meal prep
The ideal applicant possess:
- PSW/DSW certification, preferred but consideration may be given to relevant working experience or combination of personal experience and post-secondary education
- A full G license with a clean driving record, strongly preferred
- Dependable transportation within the designated region, personal vehicle preferred
- First aid and CPR certification, or willing to obtain before start date
- Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on diplomacy
- The ability to work independently and with little supervisory guidance
- Current NVCI training, or willing to attend our in-house training
- A great attitude to uplift and empower individuals within their community
All staff are required to obtain a criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening. Proof of vaccination, including Covid-19, is required prior to start. Exception letters may be accepted from licensed professionals.
