What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Pharmacy Management Team, you will have the following duties:
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated product. Update the dispensary records, including patient prescriptions, purchase and sale of pharmaceuticals, and receiving of narcotics and controlled substances. Report all discrepancies to the Pharmacy Manager, including unauthorized removal of merchandise.
- Obtain patient medical history and maintain confidential patient records. Assist the Pharmacist in updating patient profiles and entering prescription information ensuring the accuracy of drug and personal health information in all patient records. Prepare and submit insurance claims as needed. Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies.
- Assess prescription for clarity, completeness, authenticity, and legal requirements. Packages and labels prescription products to maintain integrity and meet legislative requirements. Confirm accuracy and completeness of pharmaceutical products prepared for release to the patient. Perform technical check of compliance packs.
- Check pharmaceutical products prepared by another Pharmacy Technician or by Pharmacy Assistants. Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions received from physicians and other prescribers.

- Pharmacy experience is an asset.
- Current licensure and good standing with the relevant provincial College of Pharmacists is required.
