Primary Functions of the Day Program Support Worker:
-To empower and support participants in production tasks through training, supervision, and modelling proper workplace procedures.
- Promote physical and psychological safety according to workplace standards
- Work directly with participants in training them in production skills and providing opportunities for them to practice skills repeatedly or try new tasks
- Building professional interpersonal relationships with participants
- Coaching individuals to build life and vocational skills while promoting independence
- Working alongside other staff to complete tasks in the work centre or in the yard
- Engaging in group outings
- Periodically provide bus supervision for participant transportation
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: University Degree in Human Services related field
Experience: Prefer 1-2 years experience working with individuals of varying abilities
ABILITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Demonstrates patience, perseverance, maintaining a pleasant disposition
- Demonstrates a good work ethic decision making, time management, and organizational skills
- Be innovative, self-motivated and a team player
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Able to lift 40lbs
Must possess:
CPR/First Aid
Class V Saskatchewan drivers license and a reliable vehicle to attend work at our rural location
This is a temporary, casual part-time position, with the possibility of extension.
Day program hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
