About the role
We’re looking for a Casualty Claims Adjuster, Homeowner Liability ( Personal Liability) , to join our growing team!
What you'll do here:
- Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage.
- Prepare reservation of rights and/or coverage denial letters
- Conduct investigations; identify & collect additional information such as medical history reports, lease agreements, contracts and various other expert reports required to clarify and/or justify a claim
- Participate in the management of loss and expense reserves
- Evaluate settlement criteria for payment of claims
- Represent the company in the negotiation and settlement of outstanding claims with third parties directly or with third party lawyers
- Manage claims through the litigation process
What you bring to the table:
- University degree or college diploma and/or equivalent business experience or any combination of equivalent education and experience
- 3+ years of adjusting experience working in either Property, Auto, Subrogation, Personal Liability and/or Commercial General Liability Claims
- Completion or working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation - asset
- Effective verbal and written communication with all parties
- Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work in a paperless environment
- Ability to multitask and juggle competing priorities
- Strong Systems application skills and keyboard navigation
- Friendly and positive attitude
