About the role

We’re looking for a Casualty Claims Adjuster, Homeowner Liability ( Personal Liability) , to join our growing team!
What you'll do here:

• Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage.
• Prepare reservation of rights and/or coverage denial letters
• Conduct investigations; identify & collect additional information such as medical history reports, lease agreements, contracts and various other expert reports required to clarify and/or justify a claim
• Participate in the management of loss and expense reserves
• Evaluate settlement criteria for payment of claims
• Represent the company in the negotiation and settlement of outstanding claims with third parties directly or with third party lawyers
• Manage claims through the litigation process

What you bring to the table:

• University degree or college diploma and/or equivalent business experience or any combination of equivalent education and experience
• 3+ years of adjusting experience working in either Property, Auto, Subrogation, Personal Liability and/or Commercial General Liability Claims
• Completion or working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation - asset
• Effective verbal and written communication with all parties
• Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to work in a paperless environment
• Ability to multitask and juggle competing priorities
• Strong Systems application skills and keyboard navigation
• Friendly and positive attitude

Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity:
