THE ROLE

The Catering Server is responsible for the flawlessly execution of assigned catering events, from set-up to closing. The Catering Server will adhere to company standards and provide the highest level of customer service at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide a high level of customer service to all guests.
  • Perform set-up and take-down of assigned catering event space.
  • Conduct open and closing inventory counts, escalating any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and close off consumption reports.
  • Restock, replenish, and secure all areas as it pertains to Catering.
  • Check and verify all equipment and small-wares are in working order.
  • Transport all food and beverage from the Production Kitchen to designated event space.
  • Ensure terms of contracts are executed upon.
  • Follow timelines closely, adhering to changing conditions as required.
  • All other duties assigned by Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Prior experience in similar type operation is an asset.
  • Smart Serve certification required.
  • Safe food handling policies need to be understood and followed. Food Handlers Certification is an asset.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Well-groomed and co-operative attitude.
  • Must be professional, focused, and display high energy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to customer needs.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, walk, and stoop.
