The Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education, with approximately 20,000 students and 2,700 employees, is seeking a Purchasing Manager. Reporting to the Director of Financial Services, the Purchasing Manager is a member of the Centre’s Financial Services Management Team and is responsible for the effective and efficient administration of the Centre’s procurement processes. The Purchasing Manager will lead and direct the strategic procurement of all goods, services and construction for the Education Centre focusing on optimal value, budget considerations, best practices, compliance with Board and government policies and regulations and management of risks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Professional, supply chain or other industry accreditation (i.e. CPPB, SCMP; PSPP) (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Bachelor of Commerce or similar business degree/diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of procurement experience, preferably in the public sector
• Minimum of three (3) years managing staff, preferably in the supply management field

COMPETENCIES:

• Experience with ERP (SAP would be an asset)
• Well-developed decision-making and creative problem solving abilities
• High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
• Sound understanding and demonstrated application of ethical business practices
• Excellent organizational, time-management and problem solving skills
• Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Advanced computer skills including (but not limited to) Word, Excel, Outlook

SALARY: Non Union Pay Band 11 ($3,465.46 - $4,331.82 Bi-weekly)
