Job Summary:
Responsible primarily for the technical aspects of mixing and blending including operation of cellaring equipment (pumps, hoses, carbonation systems), and tank CIPs.
Key Responsibilities:
● Maintain GMPs in all aspects of the Cellar Technician position
● Operate pumps and mixers to blend ingredients into compounds for processing
● Accurate loading and measuring of ingredients into tanks.
● Ensure cleanliness of equipment and tanks prior to blending.
● Set up and validate carbonation systems (FizzWizz, ProCarb), ensuring tanks are ready to package per the packaging schedule
● Control glycol system according to tank cooling needs
● CIP of tanks and sanitation of blend equipment
● Measuring ABVs and adding the correct amount of ethanol to tanks to achieve desired final ABV on alcoholic beverages
● Verify blended product is in-spec per customer requirements prior to signing off as “ready-to-package”. This includes pH, titratable acidity, brix, ABV, etc.
● Reporting Near misses/ incidents
● Completing all the monitoring records related with blend and brew/ sanitation.
● Reporting any risks or evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging, or raw materials to management (direct report = Blend Production Supervisor).
Skills/Qualifications and competencies:
● Proactive and solution-oriented -strong problem solving and decision making skills
● Familiar with "tank farm” management and cellaring operations
● Ability to plan weekly production efficiently to maximize tank utilization
● Good job task planning, time management and organizational skills
● Good mathematical skills
● Able to lift 60 pound object with ease and be on feet for 8 hours per day
● Excellent team player as well as ability to work independently
● Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
● General computer knowledge / skills
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $20.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
