Central Booking Associate
Department:Central Booking

Status: Regular Full Time
8 Hour Shifts, Days Schedule (Subject to Change)
Location: Bowmanville / Hybrid
Wage Schedule: $30.580 - $41 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining the data quality of the Central Booking function. Supports and monitors our Central Booking team to ensure accurate appointment optimization. Maintains schedules and resources for each modality. Works alongside Supervisor to implement updates/changes/closures. Manages staffing workloads as well as reassign and assess work-providing support for system optimization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supporting team with day-to-day operations;
  • Maintain schedules and resources for each modality.
  • Facilitate issue log via Microsoft teams (due to work from home setting);
  • Direct support team to and escalate issues when necessary;
  • Provide training and education when required;
  • Provide coverage of select Supervisor duties during periods of absence;
  • Support onboarding of new staff members;
  • Support system changes within the Central Booking team, which may include software upgrades, workflow adjustments, onboarding of new accountabilities;
  • Support the development of the staffing schedule;
  • Monitor WQs and phone calls for accountability and quality;
  • Model and promote excellence in customer service;
  • Support team building, problem solving and conflict resolution;
  • Collaborate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including members of the Central East Hospital Cluster, third party application vendors, and in regional, provincial and/or national Health Information Management networks;
  • Advocate and promote a safe work environment including participating in the development of safe work practices and innovation;
  • Other dueites as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-Secondary education in Medical office Admin or equivalent experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop staff (i.e. informal leadership);
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills;
  • Experience in staff training;
  • Strong technical ability, including familiarity with EPIC Health information system or hospital scheduling systems;
  • Proven experience with template building in hospital scheduling systems.(tested);
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands;
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, team building and analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Lakeridge Health’s comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety;
  • Proven good attendance with the ability to maintain this standard.
