GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Cereal Producer has the responsibility to produce dry cereals and cereal flakes to meet production standards and customer demands.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Produces all dry cereal mixes to specifications.
· Avoids and reduces potential product contamination by solving and/or reporting problems.
· Proposes solutions and/or contributes to solving contamination problems.
· Packages product and fills out production, ingredients and packaging reports..
· Organizes and controls the raw materials and ingredients required for granola production.
· Operates and maintains an efficient performance on the steam system, flaking rolls and flaking dryer oven in order to produce wheat flakes, triticale flakes, rye flakes and Japanese rye flakes.
· Packages flaking products for mixing purposes and customer demands.
· Ensures that good quality packed product enters warehouse.
· All bags are sealed and dated correctly before leaving packaging area.
· All packed products are stacked in a correct order according to established patterns.
· All skids with packed products are numbered to provide an easy identification in case of call back.
· Performs all quality control assurance checks according to product specification standards and records on Quality Control Assurance Reports. In case of off standard product packed apply filled out Hold/Reject signs onto skid, before product enters warehouse.
· Maintains sanitary conditions on packaging equipment and all working areas.
· Remove and empty all rerun/feed bags at end of shift.
· Cleans up and corrects any spills of product in product transfer system due to changeovers, plugged system, broken or leaking systems.
· Performs maintenance on dryer oven (e.g. screen replacement) and other equipment with or without assistance from Maintenance Department.
· Is aware of critical control points as they relate to product liability.
· Works responsibly throughout scheduled shifts.
· Responsible for compliance with Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company safety standards.
· Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing job duties and tasks.
· Performs other tasks, including training, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be a self starter, with the ability to use initiative, but also able to work as part of a team.
· Mechanical aptitude for diagnosing/solving problems with or without help from Maintenance Department.
· Good working relationship with management and fellow employees.
· Available for shift work as required.

Salary: $22.20-$25.61 per hour
