Job description

An industry leader, MFC Training operates teaching facilities in both Fredericton and Moncton, New Brunswick. In training the world's newest flight crews, it is essential to ensure the highest level of safety and quality in maintaining the College's fleet of aircraft.

MFC Training is currently looking for a Chief Dispatchers to join our team in Moncton, NB!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hire and manage all flight and ramp activities, ensuring the appropriate level of safety while maximizing aircraft utilization, and ensuring compliance with all SOPs/regulations. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • The development, implementation, and enforcement of Dispatch/Ramp SOPs, and upkeep of the Dispatch/Ramp training program and properly document completed training.
    • Ensure Dispatch and Ramp activities are conducted in a safe and effective manner.
    • Coordinate with staff and students to take advantage of changing weather/opportunities.
    • Liaise with outside agencies for continuity of operations including airport authority, fueling contractors, and Air Traffic services.
    • Liaise with internal departments for operational continuity including maintenance, scheduling, etc.
    • Assist in the development, implementation, and coordination of irregular operations plans.
    • Notify appropriate internal managers of any breach or possible violations of company policies, TC or ATS regulations.
    • Supervise flight operations supervisors, ramp attendants, and dispatchers including:
    • Ensure conformance with all appropriate SOPs and regulations.
    • Shift scheduling, work conditions, performance management and disciplinary actions as required.
    • Vacation and sick leave approval.
    • Management of the Flight Operations Centre/Ramp area and equipment, ensuring:
    • Appropriate level of equipment serviceability.
    • Completion of preventative/corrective maintenance of equipment.
    • Cleanliness of workspaces and equipment.
    • Deficiencies are noted and actioned.
    • Management / oversight of the Fuel Tank & Pumps.
  • Complete trend analysis of operational control data and offer recommendations for improvement when required, including flight cancellations/delays, scheduling, priorities, aircraft availability, and utilization rates.
  • Attend daily operations meeting and speak to any issues impacting dispatch/operations.
  • Actively seek and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage and support in the SMS program including the report submission, investigation, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Be qualified as a Flight Operations Supervisor, ramp attendant dispatcher.
  • Assume the role of Flight Operations Supervisor or Dispatcher as required to ensure business continuity.
  • Overseeing and managing the Occupational Health and Safety Program.
  • Overseeing the Emergency Response Program and updating the manual when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Aviation experience required, must be able to interpret aviation weather reports and be familiar with aircraft
  • Previous experience in a supervisory position.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Products.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Embrace personal accountability and responsibility.
  • Must possess strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while prioritizing and managing tight deadlines.
