Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Assistant Director/Program Coordinator to join our team. Working closely with the Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our childcare center. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage a team of childcare educators while actively engaging in modeling and supporting their development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the quality of childcare programs.
- Model and manage a team of childcare educators, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and education.
- Spend majority of time on the floor actively engaging with educators and children, demonstrating best practices and fostering a positive learning environment.
- Ensure that center facilities and classrooms are properly set up, organized, and maintained to meet regulatory standards and promote safety.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of childcare staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and maintain positive relationships with families, addressing their concerns and needs in a timely and effective manner.
- Support the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Certification
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a childcare setting
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, families, and staff members.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Knowledge of licensing, health and fire regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Current Child Care CPR and First Aid certification
- Current & clear Criminal record Check & Vulnerable Sector Search.

Salary: $25.64-$26.64 per hour
