We are looking to hire a qualified Director to manage our day-to-day operations and establish and sustain a positive learning environment for children. You will oversee the coordination of education programs that comply with Ministry of Education regulations, ensure that facilities are maintained, manage and support a complement of daycare staff, and manage the centers financial affairs.The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in managing all aspects of a daycare center, as well as strong leadership skills. You should display a friendly demeanor, have a love for children, and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for both children and teachers. Early childhood development experience is a plus.
Duties & Responsibilities Include (but not limited to): Maintaining enrolment/waitlist, scheduling, completes annual licensing's requirements, completing monthly financial requirements for the bookkeeper and/or ministry of education.
Program Development and Child Welfare: Ensure the implementation of developmentally appropriate programming. Ensure a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children.
Human Resources: Recruit & oversee staff in all aspects, Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development, ensure HR policy handbook is adhered to and all staff are aware of policies.
Board Relations: Attends all board meetings with a written report of the status of the centre, acts as a liaison between the board and staff/parents
Family Support: Ensures effective communication with families, addressing parent concerns in a timely manner, and maintains confidentiality.
Preference will be given to those individuals that possess the following: -Early Childhood Education Level III Certification or willingness to obtain -Childcare/supervisory experience -Current First Aid/CPR -Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector - Food Safety Certification
