Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Civil Engineering CAD Designer / Field Technician for immediate employment based either in the Markham or Mississauga, Ontario offices.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation
Prepare civil /drainage design drawings, drainage mosaics, and design calculations
Collection and interpretation of field data
Road reconstruction, railway yards, land development, lot grading, stormwater management and site plan design
Working on data sets in conjunction with other CAD and GIS technical staff
Ensuring overall data quality and integrity
Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates for civil projects
Prepare documentation for design projects and reports
Support quality control procedures
Occasional construction site inspection
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Civil Engineering Technology diploma + 2 years of related experience in municipal Civil Engineering
12 months+ experience using Civil 3D and AutoCAD
Familiar with GIS
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience creating base plans from collected survey data
Experience working with GIS data
Experience with quantity take-offs
A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology is preferred.
Experience in municipal, transportation, or Civil Engineering CAD/ drainage design
Experience creating base plans from collected survey data
Experience in drainage and stormwater management design for infrastructure projects (roadway, railway, municipal services, etc.)
Design experience with surface grading, sewer pipe networks, and detailed design
Experience working with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (2016 to current versions)
Experience in site investigations to inspect drainage infrastructure (culverts, bridges, sewer systems)
Certified or eligible for certification as a CET and a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients
Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment
Good time management skills

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $60,000.00 to $80,000.00.
