Position
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Supervisor, Civil Works, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks such as ditch digging, shoveling, skids steer work, raking and walking behind packer and operating light equipment;
- Utilize hand tools and light equipment to perform grading and leveling of construction sites;
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, ensuring proper handling and storage;
- Assist in the preparation and grading of construction sites;
- Clean and prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards;
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly;
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment; and
- Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut’s health, safety and environment policies and procedures.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- One (1) year of Civil Labourer experience in a remote camp environment performing various manual labor tasks, operating light equipment; Prior work at a mine site is preferred;
- Completion of High school diploma or GED; and
- Ability to comprehend, read, write, and converse in functional English to ensure safe working conditions on site.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $74,412.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $27.00 and overtime rate of $40.50) in a work year.
