Job Opportunity:

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking a Claims Compliance Specialist to join the Claims Technical & Compliance team.

The Claims Compliance Specialist will have diverse responsibilities as a member of the Compliance team within the Claims Technical and Compliance group. This position entails regular communication and collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders. The successful candidate values building positive relationships while helping to ensure the highest level of compliance within the claim department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support compliance with Medicare reporting process requirements to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Facilitate claim data input and reporting to Insurance Services Organization (ISO).
  • Support compliance with regulatory reporting to State and Federal agencies to ensure timely reporting.
  • Conduct claim reviews in association with Fraud Prevention efforts.
  • Conduct Loss and Expense Payment and Vendor payment control reviews.
  • Assist with oversight of the Claims legal e-billing platform, including management of reports relating to budgets, invoices and appeals.
  • Manage the Adjuster licensing and Continuing Education (CE) process.
  • Assist compliance with ongoing training and serve as technical resource for Compliance activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience handling claims for a commercial insurance carrier.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as required by management.
