About the role

As a Claims Representative I,Accident Benefits, you will be responsible for investigating Accident Benefits claims to ensure a prompt and fair settlement. Your experience and expertise in claims will help you deliver outstanding customer service while analyzing and acting decisively based on the facts. Your natural ability to negotiate, influence, prioritize, be proactive and think creatively on your feet will help you thrive in our collaborative and energetic culture.

Location can be in either offices: Dartmouth, NS, Moncton, NB or St. John’s NL.


What you'll do here:

  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wordings to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable
  • Make independent decisions, think creatively, and be able to prioritize the key requirements needed
  • Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as independent medical examinations, customer medical or employment history required to clarify and/or justify a claim
  • Analyze documentation including medical history reports, police investigations and various other expert reports
  • Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the claimants, lawyers, medical professionals, and treatment providers
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a Hybrid environment

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum one year of experience working in Claims.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all parties.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Capable of multitasking and juggling competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Bilingualism in French and English, spoken and written, is considered a strong asset
  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
  • Completed, or are working toward, Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
