Class 1 Driver/Labourer

Forbes Bros. Ltd. is currently looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver's/Labourer's(full-time, permanent) to join our growing FB Bullet team based out of Surrey BC. Specializing in shallow utility construction in the lower mainland, the FB Bullet team continues to see significant growth in the region.

The Class 1 Driver/Labourerwill be responsible for transporting designated equipment and machines as scheduled to various project sites in an efficient manner. The Class 1 Driver/Labourer will adhere to all applicable safety protocols and procedures during all operations and assist crews members with routine tasks when driving activity is not scheduled.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
• Proficiently drive and operate assigned vehicle(s), with trailer when required
• Take scheduled delivery instructions from supervisors and dispatch/execute knowing the pit and yard locations
• Loading and unloading equipment from transportation trailer, and spot when required
• Effectively chain up and chain down equipment for transportation as required based on weather conditions
• Complete pre-trips and preventative maintenance as required
• Complete all required paperwork daily
• Adhere to safety protocols and policies as outlined
• Provide labor support in various functions as required by project when no driving activity is scheduled
• Ensure cleanliness of sites by routinely removing garbage and other debris
• Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned

What We Are Looking For:

• Class 1 Drivers License with air brakes, is required
• Minimum one (1) year of driving experience, is required
• Driving experience in the construction industry or civil construction, an asset
• Ability to recognize site hazards and implement hierarchy of controls to eliminate hazards with crew members
• Ability to work in field/site with travel and work hour flexibility to accommodate to remote/site work schedules
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
• Able and willing to present an acceptable five (5) year drivers abstract
