Summer Student Position
Client Service, Warehouse and Garden Support
Closing date: April 30th at 5:00pm
Hourly rate is $15.20
14-week term position
35hrs/week
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, you will be responsible to assist with administrative duties such as answering the phone, registering clients, light house cleaning, warehouse assistance and Garden assistance. The Colchester Community Support Society’s Mission is to provide and support, with dignity and respect, programs and services the feed the hungry, promote long term food security and improve the social well-being of people in our community.
More than 1500 individuals receive emergency food assistance from the Food Bank. CCSS has a large garden that produces more than 5000lbs of produce for emergency food service. This is a time of growth for CCSS with plans to expand the capacity of the Food Bank Garden and food literacy education.
Qualifications:
· Must be entering or returning to full-time post secondary studies after the work term.
· Must be a permanent resident of Nova Scotia or live in Nova Scotia for at least six
months prior to the term commencement date.
· Knowledge of computers and ability to work with software programs.
· Administrative and customer service experience is considered an asset.
· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience working with diverse and under-resourced communities is an asset.
· Experience in gardening is an asset.
Special Requirements:
· Required to maintain Confidentiality.
· Valid driver’s license is an asset.
