The opportunity

Lavender is currently seeking a Clinical Applications Analyst (SaaS). The Clinical Applications Analyst is a subject matter expert in clinical information systems design, configuration and change management. Reporting to the IT Systems Administrator, this role informs the technology team on opportunities to help improve the client and clinician journey at Lavender, including responsibility for configuring clinical and client outreach systems, improving interoperability between best of breed SaaS products through use of API’s. This position is also responsible for refreshing templates, tools, and launching new features and apps that support evidence-based care and high quality telehealth psychiatry standards. The Clinical Applications Analyst will be the product owner of all clinical systems including but not limited to the Electronic Medical Record, ePrescribing platform, and the measurement based care platform, and therefore will be responsible for implementation of new features and updates in user journeys including change management, training, and documentation.


Hours, location and benefits:

40 hours per week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This role is remote with a preference for candidates to be based in Calgary, Alberta.

Must have your own computer that can be used for work, high-speed internet and a quiet, professional space to work from home.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Applications Strategy

  • Apply understanding of the health system, clinical workflows and processes to provide recommendations for product and process improvement
  • Develop strategy to improve integration between Clinical SaaS products to improve client and clinician/staff experience
  • Build and maintain information databases and dashboards to support reporting and decision making
  • Anticipate future clinical requirements and identify needed product and service changes
  • Stay up to date in the latest healthcare SaaS products and trends with a bias towards innovation
Product Configuration and Implementation
  • Liaise with members of the assigned areas/departments and software vendors to troubleshoot problems, assess priority, evaluate alternatives and implement solutions
  • Prepare implementation plans and schedules, including resource requirements
  • Install and configure clinical and health information systems
  • Develop and document system processes and procedures
  • Provide support related to clinical and health information software applications
  • Lead and participate in product testing and evaluation
  • Ensure sandboxes are maintained and up to date for each major system

Training and Support
  • Evaluate training requirements and provide required training for new users and to support ongoing education related to system upgrades and new technology
  • Act as SME of all clinical systems and advise the team of what can and cannot be done and level of effort required for implementation, as well as possible work-around solutions
  • Responsible for user access management of clinical systems

The Candidate
  • University degree in healthcare, nursing or a health informatics discipline
  • Minimum of three years of related experience in clinical information systems administration
  • Demonstrable knowledge of healthcare systems design and integration using best of breed SaaS products for optimized user journeys
  • Experience in product design and configuration
  • Experience in business process analysis, mapping, and reengineering
  • Experience with process improvement, change management or project management
  • Bias towards continuous improvement and innovation
  • Self-starter and solutions driven, with an ability to work independently while providing timely updates to leadership
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and HL7/FHIR requirements
