About the Position

Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a full-time Clinical Applications Analyst. The ideal candidate would be dedicated

to patient care and committed to championing the Hospital’s Mission to relieve illness and suffering, and help

people live healthier lives. The Clinical Applications Analyst is responsible for providing training and support to

users of the Hospital Information System (Meditech) and other Clinical Applications. You are a motivated self-

starter with strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills, and enjoy taking on challenging

issues. You thrive in an ever changing and fast-paced environment. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supports and maintains the Health Information System - Meditech, with greater emphasis on Pharmacy

modules and account management in MIS.

  • Participates in planning and implementing upgrades and new modules, providing advice and consultation

on functional requirements, evaluating techniques and standards.

  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Tests and implements new features of software and implements changes to systems in response to user

requests.

  • Responds to specialized programming requests, including creation of NPR and related reports.
  • Communicates directly with vendors to identify and remediate any issues.
  • Liaise with technical support and infrastructure teams, providing guidance and assistance with end-user

incident requests.

  • Document support requests, create technical documents, user guides as necessary.
  • Participate in the implementation of new Clinical Applications for the organization including a Health

Information System upgrade.

  • Additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

  • Health Care Professional in good standing with his/her respective College.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience with Meditech.
  • Willingness to learn and support all Meditech modules and NPR reporting.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple professionals to meet organizational goals.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining steadiness, composure and professional disposition.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Awareness of Confidentiality and Security a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, to successfully support all levels of staff in resolving issues.
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Vehicle and valid driver’s licence, to enable travel between customer sites.
  • Willingness to working over-time and flexible with schedule as needed for project delivery and other

support needs.

Hours of Work: Primary: Monday to Friday, but must be available to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.

Erie and the 140 kilometers of shoreline that include long stretches of sandy beach.
