About the role

We are looking for a Cloud Practitionerto join our IT team. In this role, you will collaborate with the Manager of the Cloud Center of Excellence to be part of a small, but mighty, agile team of senior experts responsible for the integration and operation of a Public and Private Cloud Infrastructure. 

The work of this team – along with the teams Quebec and Ontario– helps to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and excellence of our IT systems so our people can effortlessly leverage technology to do their work and do it well.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who has a broad understanding of cloud technologies and their integration with existing on-premises technologies and who is also looking to grow in a multi-disciplinary team.

What you'll do here:

  • Proactively manage team demand/capacity in consultation with IT management, Product management, Enterprise Architecture, and Workload owners that are looking to go in the Cloud.

  • Provide cloud management services such as strategy, approaches, best practices, and procedures across Intact.

  • Champion the Infrastructure as Code.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Finance, and engineering teams, among others, to develop the global cloud strategy.

  • Guide cloud investment decisions to innovate for value, FinOps Practice.

  • Advise on cloud KPIs, metrics, and SLAs to measure cost, performance, and support baselines and track against standards and business requirements.

  • Operationalize consistent cloud migration procedures.

  • Support cloud security and compliance governance.

  • Manage knowledgebase for cloud best practices, standards, training material, etc.

  • Maintain tool kit / library of standard tools.

  • Liaise with external vendors to accomplish cloud design, development, and operations goals.

  • Continuously develop and improve services offered by the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE).

  • Identify opportunities for cloud efficiency enhancements across the organization.

  • Coordinate the delivery of Cloud services with Cloud Operation Team and Business.

  • Evaluate the compliance of Cloud projects with respect to governance and coordinate the Cloud approval committee.

What you need:

  • 10+ years of experience in an operational, management, or services delivery role (Ideally for a Managed Services Provider, Cloud Hosting, or Insurance company).

  • Good planning and organization of work.

  • Ease of working in a team.

  • Understanding of automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Packer , Vault.

  • Knowledge in infrastructure automation with CI/CD framework.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.

  • Knowledge of DevOps methodology.

  • Experience in a hybrid cloud environment

  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country. 

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
