Form of workOur client in Scarborough has immediate openings for Entry Level CNC Milling Machine Set-up Operator. A hands-on position which sets-up and runs CNC equipment to produce quality components. The position spends 100% of the time in a machining role.

Pay rate: $20.50/hour
Location: Progress Ave & Kennedy Rd, Scarborough ON.
Schedule: Days- Monday – Thursday 7:30am - 4:30 pm AND Friday 7:30am –2.00pm
Afternoons- Monday – Thursday 4:30pm - 1:00am AND Friday 2:00pm – 10:30pm

Responsibilities:
Sets up and operates CNC Milling machines using information sheets and directions given by the CNC programmers.
Sets-up in 2D and 3D and produces accurate parts to specifications in a timely and safe manner.
Operates multiple CNC machines when cycle times allow.
Ensures blank materials are cut to specified dimensions on table saw, flycut to specified thickness on manual Milling Machine, and staged on the cart while time allows while running large programs to maximize efficiency
Assists Mould Finisher with Prototype and Final tool finishing, sampling, and testing when machine cycle allows (Includes drilling, grinding, sanding, polishing, sample machine operation and product fit testing)
Assists Mould Finisher with Epoxy casting when machine cycle allows (includes weighing, mixing, pouring, and curing of epoxy resin to create work pieces for mills)
Responsible for machine maintenance (includes scheduled cleaning, oiling, greasing of moving parts, and repairs when necessary)
Drills and taps operations when required to mount tools on plates for production
Reads and understands engineering drawings.
Uses and reads a measuring caliper and other related measuring equipment
Qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma and one year certificate from college or technical school; 1-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate knowledge of SolidWorks \CAMWorks and Microsoft Excel
Skilled in the use of ALL shop equipment including table saw, band saw, drill press, table router, bench grinder. All hand tools and powered hand tools including angle grinder, belt and orbital sanders, drill, router
Ability to accurately use and read ALL vacform tool shop measuring tools including the following:
Vernier calipers to 0.001”, micrometer to .001”, vernier protractor, depth gauges, dial indicators,
Must have applicable knowledge of CNC equipment.
Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment an asset
Table Saw experience an asset.
