Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete daily pre-inspection inspections.
• Read and interpret drawings and or blueprints.
• Document issues and communicate with programmer/operators/maintenance.
• Understand work order requirements and material specifications from setup sheet.
• Verify completed part against specifications, using squares, calipers, tape measure, etc.
• Responsible to ensure material being received is to specification and defect-free (no dents, waves, stains, etc.).
• Maintain inventory (establish a minimum and maximum).
• Perform daily/weekly maintenance tasks
• Being able to troubleshoot/resolve common machine issues.
• Ensure productivity output and quality is maintained.
• Assist maintenance crew as needed.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Capabilities

• Mechanical dexterity with good hand eye coordination
• Ability to lift heavy items - weight handling up to 22.5 Kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills

• Read and interpret drawings for grinding and finishing requirements
• Excellent reasoning skill, ability to identify and solve problems
• Ability to use a tape measure, understanding fractions and decimals, and basic length conversions.

Requirements

• One (1) to three (3) years of machine operating experience is an asset
• Mechanical Engineering diploma or Mechatronics or equivalent
