Co-op Student - Commerce, Business Administration, Social Sciences - Summer 2024 (Vernon)

Annual salary: $1740.04 - $2191.70 biweekly

What you'll do

Candidate selection, interviews and hiring will take place continuously from this single posting – this means while there is a

This role is located in our Vernon BC office location.
We are looking for team-oriented Co-op students who demonstrates strong research, analytical, stakeholder engagement
and problem-solving skills. As a member of one of BC Hydro’s business unit teams, candidates will be responsible for
supporting various analytical and day to day operational projects and initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
  • This position assists the Customer Experience and Business Operations Team. Activities may include: conducting
business analysis and research; supporting stakeholder engagement activities; gathering, preparing and presenting data for
review; drafting reports and findings; and supporting operational teams, as needed.
  • The student will learn about the utility industry and be given the opportunity to develop skillsets in the following areas:
process improvement, market research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, presenting information and findings,
project operation management in a fast paced dynamic environment, developing analytical/strategic thinking, and problem
solving.

What you bring

  • To qualify as a candidate, individual's must be enrolled in the Co-op Program and have yet to graduate from a recognized
post-secondary institution in Canada.
  • Strong research, analytical, operations and people management, report writing and presentation skills

  • Experience and interest in customer experience/business analysis process and operation management, as well as
analyzing and presenting data and findings to operations management team members
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint).

  • Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills and the ability to
work efficiently, independently and in a team environment.

What we offer

  • As a condition of employment at BC Hydro, a background check clearance will be required.

  • All positions will be hired first as a four month work term. For some positions, there is opportunity to extend, to eight
months.

  • Students are expected to work at the job location for their co-op role and it is the student’s responsibility to relocate
themselves if necessary.
