Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager to help us launch Ground Press Coffee and Books, which is currently under construction in Airdrie, Alberta.

You will be our first employee! We're looking to hire a person that will eventually become our team leader. As Store Manager, you will be responsible for helping us recruit a great team, overseeing the daily operations of the coffeeshop, ensuring excellent customer service, managing inventory, and driving sales. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record in the coffee industry, and the ability to effectively manage a team.

We will also have a small in-store bookstore, so if you're a book lover and or have some experience in a place like Indigo or a library, that's a huge bonus (but not required).

As the Store Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere and service that defines Ground Press, ensuring it remains a cherished local haven for coffee enthusiasts and book lovers alike.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities:**

- **Leadership and Team Management:** Recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing team dedicated to excellence in customer service and operational standards.

- **Customer Experience:** Foster a welcoming, friendly environment that encourages repeat business and positive word-of-mouth. Handle customer inquiries and complaints with empathy and professionalism.

- **Operational Excellence:** Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, order placement, cleanliness, and maintenance, ensuring the shop runs smoothly and efficiently.

- **Sales and Marketing:** Implement strategies to drive sales growth, including community engagement, promotions, and events. Collaborate with local vendors and authors to enrich the customer experience.

- **Financial Management:** Manage the store’s budget, including labor costs, supplies, and waste management, to maximize profitability.

- **Quality Control:** Uphold high standards for coffee quality and book selection, ensuring products meet or exceed customer expectations.

**Skills and Qualifications:**

- **Experience:** At least 3 years of management experience in the coffee industry or a related field, with a proven track record of improving customer satisfaction and business performance.

- **Customer Service Excellence:** Exceptional ability to deliver and model outstanding customer service. A natural at building rapport with customers and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.

- **Leadership Skills:** Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team.

- **Operational Knowledge:** Solid understanding of Coffee Shop operations, including health and safety standards, inventory management, and financial reporting.

- **Communication:** Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and vendors.

- **Flexibility:** Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak business hours.
