Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta, serving the educational needs of approximately 17,750 students in 42 schools. EIPS is recruiting a Commercial Foods Teacher at Ardrossan Junior Senior High.

Ardrossan Junior Senior High serves approximately 830 students in grades 7 to 12, with 40 teaching staff and 10 support staff. The school is located in Ardrossan, AB, approximately 10 minutes east of Sherwood Park, AB.

The mission of Ardrossan Junior Senior High is to achieve educational excellence in preparing students for their future. As a combined junior-senior high school, staff and administration get to know students very well during their years at Ardrossan. There’s a strong sense of ''family'' at the school. Ardrossan Junior Senior High is a dual-track school offering both an English program and a French Immersion program.

Commencing August 27, 2024

FTE to be between 0.571 - 1.0 FTE

Open to internal and external applicants, priority will be given to EIPS teachers who hold a continuous contract and meet the minimum requirements of the position

Red Seal accreditation would be an asset

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Cafeteria at lunch hour

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education degree

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Effective organization and classroom management skills

Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged

Excellent verbal and written skills

Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice

Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
