Communications and Logistics Administrator (CLA) include:
Requirements:
Experience:
● Minimum of 3 years in an administrative role
● Experience in the Forest or Natural Resource industry (direct wildland firefighting experience preferred)
● Extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and other administrative software
● Basic bookkeeping skills (billing, invoicing, reporting, etc.)
● Experience with QuickBooks online preferred but not required
● Experience with Payroll preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
● Manage crew certifications and manifests
● Assist Operations Manager and Senior Crew Leaders in deployment of crews as needed.
● Create, track and manage invoices and billing
● Detailed and orderly filing and documentation
● Maintain excellent communication with crew
● General business administrative tasks
● Must be able to work independently and as part of team
● Report directly to the Operations Manager
● Payroll
● Data entry and record keeping
Qualifications and Skills:The successful candidate will be highly detail oriented, organized, and an effective communicator. This candidate will also have previous experience in a fast-paced office environment and will have knowledge of the natural resource and/or wildfire industry. Preference will be given to individuals who have worked in wildfire and have administrative education and/or experience.
Duration of Contract: Beginning of April to end of September with potential opportunities for year-round work upon completion of the initial contract.
Hours of work: Core hours 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday. May be required to work overtime or be on standby over weekends.
Location: Cranbrook or Castlegar/Nelson Offices
Wage: $23-$25/hour
