Job description

Are you a passionate soccer enthusiast with a flair for Social Media and exceptional communication skills? Are you ready to take on the challenge of representing our Valour FC on various digital platforms and managing media requests and press releases while traveling with the team? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
What you will do:
  • Create and execute Social Media strategies to engage fans, increase brand awareness, and drive audience growth across all major platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc.)
  • Develop compelling content, including graphics and videos, that showcases the team's achievements, behind-the-scenes moments, and community involvement
  • Monitor Social Media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage with followers in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage press releases, media alerts, and official statements to ensure consistent and accurate communication with the public and press
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to maximize coverage and exposure for the team
  • Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to align Social Media campaigns with overall branding and promotional efforts
  • Create and send weekly newsletters to subscribers and season ticket members
  • Travel with the team to capture on-field action, conduct player interviews, and provide live updates during matches.
  • Utilize analytics tools to track Social Media performance, identify trends, and optimize strategies for greater impact
Requirements
  • Proven experience managing Social Media accounts and campaigns for sports teams, preferably in soccer
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Familiarity with Social Media scheduling tools and analytics platforms
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with players, coaches, and team staff
  • Flexibility to travel extensively and work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays
