Purpose of your Position - Non Union
Classification Summary - Union
A Community Development Coordinator inspires, encourages, facilitates and empowers the community to provide activities that improve the quality of life and vibrancy of Kelowna.
Duties - Union
- Collaborate with individuals, community based organizations, registered societies, networks, coalitions and informal groups to:
- Build community engagement at the community level (strengthen social capital)
- Support the development and delivery of programs, services and events that enhance community life
- Increase the community’s capacity to engage, initiate and support activities and events that improve the quality of life and vibrancy of the community.
- Coordinate community grant programs.
- Respond to telephone and in-person public enquiries and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service.
- Develop and maintain a variety of communications and resource materials to support initiatives and activities.
- Conduct community presentations.
- Research and analyze data/information related to community needs, trends and opportunities.
- Design, manage and evaluate initiatives, programs and projects.
- Prepare reports, correspondence and maintain a wide variety of manual and computerized departmental records and file systems.
- Process financial documents and monitor budgets.
