Summary of the Program:
The Indigenous Employment Program is designed to connect Indigenous job seekers with prospective employers in high demand sectors of our clean economy. To do so, it combines direct training and job placement, wage subsidy supports, community-based education and engagement, and networking opportunities through job fairs and targeted relationship building. As we help to build Nova Scotia's clean economy, we recognize our responsibility to ensure that everyone has access to the growing number of education and employment opportunities.
Summary of the Position:
Clean is in search of a dynamic, experienced Community Educator to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Education and Engagement, the Community Educator - Indigenous Employment Program will play an integral role in providing high quality educational opportunities for youth and community members on topics such as green careers, renewable energy and climate change.
In this role, you'll be responsible for creating and delivering engaging educational experiences and resources designed to support both Indigenous youth and community members of all ages. As an effective educator or facilitator, you'll have experience with community engagement, understanding how to communicate complex topics in ways suitable for your audience.
This position requires strong organizational, problem-solving, and collaborative skills, as well as a passion for supporting people of all ages to learn about green careers and sustainability.
You'll work collaboratively amongst internal teams and external partners to ensure education efforts help lead to engagement with the Indigenous Employment Program.
