Duties and responsibilities:
The Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for planning, delivering and achieving revenue targets through fundraising events; assisting Branch leadership with public relations, communications, and marketing efforts; and developing and maintaining positive relationships between SaskAbilities and the community.
Duties include:
- Develop public relations and marketing plans, as required, to support fund development activities, promote SaskAbilities programs and services, and to achieve objectives including revenue targets.
- Planning, organizing, promote and delivering events from conception to completion.
- Develop, maintain, grow a network of stakeholders, supporters, and sponsors whose support is critical to SaskAbilities.
- Recruit, develop and maintain relationships with event participants, volunteers, staff and clients.
- Administration of social media platforms, including research and promotions.
- Maintains databases and fundraising pages.
- Participate as a team member in both branch and provincial initiatives.
- Write, edit, and produce promotional material for sponsors, participants, and media.
- Conduct community presentations to a variety of audiences in order to create opportunities for partnerships and enhance financial support.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in business administration, marketing, or public relations.
- More than 2 years of directly related experience.
- Leadership abilities including positive, outgoing attitude.
- Public relations, event management and effective public speaking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database software and social media platforms.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience in a community-based, not-for-profit environment considered an asset.
- Experience networking in a professional environment.
Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search. The successful candidate will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, if unable to do so due to medical reasons, prohibited grounds or personal choice, must undergo regular rapid antigen testing.
