Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Community Support Worker/Office Admin Support to join our team at The Jacob Puddister Memorial Foundation. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of JPMF. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to multitask effectively. They will also have experience working for charities/non-profits that focus on youth and/or mental health. For this role, experience in non-profits/charities or community work is more important than experience in Office Administration.
Duties
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries
- Manage the front desk area and greet visitors
- Contacting and rescheduling clients for staff counsellors/therapists who have called in sick
- Provide support for fundraising events
- Provide support in resourcing clients in our community, helping with restocking our client pantry and toiletry items, helping with client needs/community-based programming
-Coordinating with other organizations for joint projects/ventures involving increasing our capacity to support folks in our community
- Work with other staff/board to create new offerings and promote fundraisers
- Work with staff/board to write and complete grants and fundraising applications
- Assess and manage counsellor statistics
Experience
- Proven experience as a Community Support Worker or Office Administrator
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexibly and with our team as we navigate this new and exciting role at JPMF
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 32 per week
