The Compensation Specialist will be accountable for the day-to-day delivery and administration of based compensation programs and processes for represented and non-represented employees. 
General Accountabilities:
-Support the delivery of the annual compensation cycle, including delivery of the short-term incentive program and annual merit increases, to ensure appropriate outcomes aligned with our policies and practices.
-Support the Compensation Specialist in the delivery of Job Evaluation accountabilities, including, the development and maintenance of job descriptions, participation in the evaluations / calibration process, and drafting communications and reports for various stakeholders.
-Support the ongoing, review and refinement of equity compensation programs by identifying process improvements and conducting targeted research and analysis
-Liaise between the administrative agent and payroll provider on equity related matters
-Audit the administrative agent and payroll provider to ensure the accuracy of all aspects of the equity program
-Develop communications material to educate management and employees on the benefits of broad based compensation and the link between pay for performance
-Work in collaboration with the Compensation team to develop the Compensation Discussion and Analysis section of the annual Management Information Circular
-Assist in the preparation of the annual Share Ownership Guideline report
-Provide ad-hoc compensation analytics and reporting
-Conduct research on compensation practices and policies
Selection Criteria:
Qualifications:
-Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or Human Resources or related fields
-A minimum of 4 – 6 years’ related human resources experience with preferable experience in equity based compensation and incentive program experience
Experience:
-Demonstrated knowledge of compensation and incentive program,  with preferable experience in equity administration or executive compensation in a publicly traded context
-Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and skilled in manipulating data
-Sound knowledge of human resources theories, principles, and practices, with a focus on Compensation
-Advanced proficiency in Excel is required; proficient with PowerPoint and Word
-Ability to produce high quality work and manage multiple deliverables under time constraints
-Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in handling information of a sensitive nature
-Experience administering compensation with SAP and SuccessFactors is an asset
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to summarize information concisely and present in written, graphical and/or verbal format in order to convey complex information to all levels of stakeholders
-Proven ability to think conceptually, problem-solve, and generate practical solutions
-Ability to take full ownership of assigned projects and see those projects through to completion
-The ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff to develop strong working relationships with individuals across the company
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment
-Excels at building partnerships, both inside and outside the team, and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
-Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
