Job description

The Compliance Assurance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all registrants adhere to the obligations set forth by the Association and the Regulated Forestry Management Profession Act, affiliated Regulation, and registration standards. The position will oversee registrant compliance with programs, manage compliance audits, and ensure that all registrants are up-to-date with the continuing competence program and renewals. This role is crucial to maintaining the integrity and professional standards of the Association.

This is a half-time contract position for a six-month duration. May be opportunity to extend the contract. Fees are inclusive of GST.

General Responsibilities

  • Assist in registrant compliance of quality assurance programs.
  • Ensure the effective prevention, detection, and response to compliance infractions.

Continuing Competence Program:

  • Ensure registrants meet their ongoing professional development requirements and follow up with those who are non-compliant.
  • Follow up on action plans not completed on time.
  • Assist registrants in understanding the requirements of the continuing competence program.

Audits:

  • Conduct regular registrant compliance audits.
  • Assist with internal audits.
  • Ensure that audit findings are documented and addressed in a timely manner.

Mandatory Registration:

  • Follow up with individuals to ensure mandatory registration requirements are met.

Renewals:

  • Ensure all registrants meet renewal criteria.
  • Follow up with individuals failing to renew.

Credential Assessments:

  • Follow up with reporting requirements of registrants who completed credential assessments.

Policy Development:

  • Assist in the development and updating of policies and procedures related to compliance and registration.
  • Ensure that all policies are in line with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and present reports on compliance activities to senior management and relevant committees as requested.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as requested by the ED.

Qualifications & Knowledge Requirements

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of education and comparable work experience.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a compliance and/or auditing role, preferably within a regulatory organization.
  • Experience in forest management or the natural resource sector is an asset.
  • Experience understanding legislation, policy, regulations, practice standards, and codes of ethics.
  • Experience in interacting and working with non-profit organizations and committees.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Ideally a registered member in good standing or eligible to register with a professional regulatory organization in Alberta.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $2,200.00-$2,500.00 per month

Expected hours: 18.75 per week

Licence/Certification:

  • professional designation in Alberta (preferred)
