Your Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and prepare surfaces.
- Measure, cut and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings
- Position and secure sheets to metal or wood studs or joists
- Cut and install metal corner posts to protect outside corners
- Fill joints, nail gaps, holes and cracks with the mixture using a trowel and a wide knife
- Tape over the joints using a taping machine
- Smooth off the mixture excess and allow the coat to dry
- apply successive coats of mix and sand joints and seams
- Manufacture and install metal grids suspended from the ceiling and place panels to form acoustic ceilings and cornices.
- Mix plaster ingredients and apply, level and smooth coats of plaster using appropriate tools.
- Trowel or spray coats of stucco over the exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces.
- Smooth out the excess mixture and allow the coat to dry.
- Finish corners, angles, and create decorative designs as required.
- Cure and maintain freshly plastered surfaces.
- Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim.
- Spray acoustic materials or texture finish on walls and ceilings.
- Cut and install metal and paper corner beads for protection.
- Fill joints, indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
- Tape joints using a taping machine and embed tape.
- Apply successive coats of compound, sand seams and joints.
- Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids, including coffered ceilings.
- Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties
- Performs other duties as required
- +2 years of working experience as a Drywall Installer/Taper
- Plaster trade certification, Red seal or equivalent
- Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms
- Must be able to climb scaffoldings.
- Possesses and maintains necessary tools, equipment, and protective gear.
- Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with health & safety regulations, procedures and company policies.
- Adheres to project specifications and timelines ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Work in conjunction with crew members to complete field projects or tasks.
- Displays high levels of motivation, energy, and forward-thinking.
- Listens attentively and follows instructions carefully.
- Fair wages determined by skill set and experience Range $25 to $35 per hour
