RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our team as a Construction Superintendent. The Construction Superintendent will ensure that short-term plans are available to our Construction crews and provide leadership, support, and oversight to the day-to-day operations. They will coordinate resources with other capability teams to champion both the needs of our customers and our business, while ensuring the expectations around timelines and efficiency are met.
Reports To: Construction Manager
General Responsibilities
- Provide technical insight and solutions for the Construction Management team.
- Coordinate daily activities of multiple construction sites to ensure quality and efficient operation of multiple crews.
- Ensure required materials and resources are available and properly allocated amongst work crews.
- Ensure daily production goals are being met and provide timely updates on work progression in the field.
- Promote a culture of safety by mentoring new and existing personnel and ensuring crews are applying appropriate policies and procedures.
- Assist in the training, assignment, and evaluation of new employees to maximize the contributions of each individual.
- Assist in the allocation of company vehicles and equipment, and ensure they are being properly used and maintained.
- Coordinate with permit and licensing various organizations for Track crossings, Pipeline crossings, Safety watches, locates, and Approvals.
- Arrange safety watches, pipeline crossings, and track crossings.
- Ensure company safety policies are met by all workers, including Toolbox meetings and communication of Safety Memos and that all incidents are reported (near misses, property damage, injuries, environmental, etc.) before the end of the shift.
- Complete Daily reports and administration.
- Be familiar with and conduct self according to RFNOW Inc Policy & Procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years of underground / field construction experience
- Supervisory experience and knowledge of the telecom industry are both assets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with utility locates and working around existing utilities.
- Knowledge of ground disturbance practices and WPSH codes and legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage resources, equipment, and labour to perform fibreoptic cable installation.
- Class 5 driver’s license required (Class 1 or 3 licence an asset)
Requirements
- Ability to lift more than 50lbs.
- Ability to spend majority of day standing and/or walking
- Willingness and ability to travel Monday to Friday, throughout MB and SK
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Job Details:
- Full time, Permanent
- Monday to Friday – (up to 50 to 60 hrs per week)
- $37.50 - $45.00/hr depending on experience
