We are excited to welcome an experienced Quantitative Labour Economist to join our consulting team and focus on the continued development of this practice area.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Design, manage and complete rigorous quantitative analyses of labour market trends, including workforce composition, employment, and income patterns at the local, regional, provincial and national levels.

· Develop and implement quantitative models to forecast key labour market indicators, such as participation and employment rates, wage growth, and sector-specific trends.

· Collaborate with internal and external teams to define forecasting objectives and tailor models to specific client or project requirements.

· Prepare reports summarizing methods, assumptions and results.

· Communicate technical information and modelling results to clients, governments, regulators and public stakeholders.

· Strategically build the practice through successful business development initiatives including preparation of proposals and client presentations.

· Lead, inspire and mentor junior staff.

Requirements:

· Master’s degree or equivalent in economics, statistics, or a related discipline with a focus on Quantitative Labour economics and forecasting

· Minimum eight years of proven experience conducting quantitative analysis and labour market research

· Experience developing, implementing, updating and reporting on modelling and forecasting of labour market indicators

· Experience managing large datasets

· Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders including Indigenous communities, governments and industry

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong commitment to safety, including following established health and safety protocols

Desirable qualities:

· Previous consulting experience

· Prior experience preparing environmental impact assessments

· Training or work experience in economic impact assessment including input/output modelling

· Prior work experience or familiarity with the energy, mining and forestry sectors

· Appearing as an expert witness before regulatory tribunals

· Demonstrated ability to generate and develop new business and cultivate long term relationships with clients

· Fluency in French, Anishinaabemowin, Cree or other languages
